Trials of the Nether Realm
A seasonal endless exploration mode — lead your expedition through the Nether Realm and go as far as you can.
Trials of the Nether Realm is a seasonal endless exploration mode where designated Cookies explore the Nether Realm based on each season's featured element. Choose your path at each fork, manage your Cookies' Activity Points, and push as deep as you can for Legendary Topping Tart materials and seasonal rewards.
Difficulty
- Two difficulty levels are available — select the one best suited to your current progress.
- Easy: a relatively light challenge with a maximum of 5 areas.
- Hard: a grueling challenge featuring an endless series of areas.
Seasonal elements and Cookies
- Seasonal Element Restrictions: each season features 3 designated elements, and expeditions can only be formed with Cookies using those elements.
- Season Cookies: Cookies featured each season receive powerful special effects in the Trials of the Nether Realm.
Expedition Cookies
- Additional expedition slots can be obtained from Area Clear Rewards.
- Slots expanded during the current run remain unlocked for your next run.
- Rarity Restriction: only one high-rarity Cookie (WITCH, BEAST, LEGENDARY, ANCIENT, DRAGON, or SUPER EPIC) can be placed per run.
Nodes
- Battle Nodes: battle regular enemies. Progress is saved after each wave, so a failed attempt resumes from the last wave reached.
- Fierce Battle Nodes: battle elite enemies. The enemies' remaining HP is saved, so you can retry from where you left off. When a Cookie enemy appears you can recruit that Cookie to your expedition party — recruited Cookies do not take up slots and leave before the next expedition.
- Healing Nodes: restore a Cookie's Activity Points, or the AP of the entire expedition.
- Rift of Oblivion Nodes: a Battle Node, Fierce Battle Node, Healing Node, Cookie Ally, or Reward appears at random.
- Boss Nodes: battle the boss enemy, whose remaining HP is saved between attempts. Bosses await on the final floor of each area — clear the floor to move on.
Cookie Activity Points
- Cookies that participate in battle lose Activity Points after the battle ends.
- Cookies with no AP remaining cannot participate in battles until the end of the current run.
- Activity can be restored at Healing Nodes, or through Rift of Oblivion Nodes at a certain chance.
Rewards and Time Jumpers
- Area Clear Reward: clear the Boss Node in the current area to earn this First Clear Reward once per season.
- Node Rewards: reach reward milestones in the current area and claim rewards once per season.
- Battle Rewards: earned by winning in battles.
- After playing a specific difficulty and ending your expedition, Time Jumpers let you earn Battle Clear Rewards based on the deepest zone you have reached during the season.
- If multiple records share the same furthest cleared zones, rewards are based on the most recently cleared Battle Node. Uncleared zones are not included, and reward amounts vary with the number of Battle Nodes cleared.
- Rewards obtained by using Time Jumpers do not count toward your score.
